Social Networking for Global Citizenship
Moderator: Vamsee Kanchi, ’93
Panel: Alumni from Recent Classes
At the time of graduation, Woodstock students have the potential to be global citizens in the truest sense of the term. During their school years, students live and study with others from across the world while growing up in a country that has economic and social challenges significantly different from those in more developed countries. To what extent do the school’s alumni realize this potential – both professionally and personally – once they are out in the ‘real world?’ A panel of recent and older alumni will debate this issue, taking into account today’s rapidly globalized environment.
The session will include a visual presentation that traces the locations and professional accomplishments of Woodstock students before and after their experience in Mussoorie. Topics covered during the session will include:
- Skills students graduate with that facilitate careers in global citizenship
- The increasing role of technology in global citizenship
- Global citizenship at the personal level
- Recommendations for the school and its current students
