Here’s a list of things you may want to do, during the weekend,  before or afterwards on your own:

• Hiking trails, close to NCC:  PotomacTrail – closest access at Elizabeth Mills Riverfront Park,  or Kephart Bridge Landing, both in Lansdowne
• Further afield, Appalachian Trail which runs from Maine to Georgia
• The Washington and Old Dominion Trail, a 45 mile multiuse trail
• Bicycling along the old Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath
• The Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park
• The Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive
• The Shenandoah National Park
• The Village of Waterford, a National Historic Landmark and many other old plantations and historical sites
• Visit Loudoun County, including DC’s Wine Country
