Here’s a list of things you may want to do, during the weekend, before or afterwards on your own:
- Hiking trails, close to NCC: PotomacTrail – closest access at Elizabeth Mills Riverfront Park, or Kephart Bridge Landing, both in Lansdowne
- Further afield, Appalachian Trail which runs from Maine to Georgia
- The Washington and Old Dominion Trail, a 45 mile multiuse trail
- Bicycling along the old Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath
- The Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park
- The Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive
- The Shenandoah National Park
- The Village of Waterford, a National Historic Landmark and many other old plantations and historical sites
- Visit Loudoun County, including DC’s Wine Country
